SEOUL PLAZA is a central space in Seoul, Korea that holds many programs cultural events, exhibitions, performances. It also held symbolic importance for Koreans as a place to gather when they want to express their hopes or fears about Korea’s future. For example, the huge number people get together to cheer for the Soccer World Cup in 2002. Today, people are holding a candlelight vigil for Korea’s future on the issue. However, because the most of those events in the Seoul Plaza is temporary. They are events that take place in for only a while and there are many different promoters who want to use the space; performers, politician, artist, etc.
The space must be flexible, able to change frequently to hold different programs. And when there are no events, there are no trees and bench that can be a shelter or shade from the strong sunray or rainy day, and no benches so that the space could be uncomfortable for the people who try to take a rest or stay in that place.
